A Walk Through the Park

That's what we (T & C and I) did on Thanksgiving Monday. After a late start because we were Skypeing friends back in Singapore. It took us just 16 minutes to get to the magnificent Gatineau Park. I checked the National Capital Commission's website, which confirmed Fall Rhapsody - 90% colouration, peak period for autumn hiking through the Park. It was a perfect day too - cloudy but not too windy, yet still warm.

The Park measures 363 sq km, and we walked a trail of just about 1km. It felt much longer though, because we stopped every 3 steps to take photos :-) It was nice to see people walking about leisurely, many of them holding long and sturdy branches as walking sticks. At a stream, we even saw some kids crawling along a log, precariously close to falling into the water! Childhood must be such a different experience here...

I was most taken with the sight of still waters at a clearing. There was almost perfect symmetry in that moment. Have a look :-)

It was a short outing, but a very refreshing one. A nice way to mark the second half of this journey as well. This week and next, I'm with the Living Leadership programme. Like LAB, it is using a Live Case as the backbone of learning. In fact, it is the same Live Case on Immigration and Integration of Newcomers. It will be interesting to observe the similarities and differences between the approaches taken by both programmes...
